Life Coaching

At LifeGate Church we believe every individual is uniquely gifted and has the potential to develop to their fullest potential and discover their own possible solutions and destiny.

Over the years, in our experiences in dealing with diverse people, we have come to realise that the best solution or every solution is not always achieved by counselling or directing the person “what to do” but rather by “coaching the person” to explore his or her own solution; Whether be it in exploring opportunities or areas one need to develop, identify one’s strength and weaknesses, behavioural change , prioritising goal, work life balance, career and many others .

And we do this through Life Coaching by our Life Coaches who are members of our Church, and certified as Life Coaches by the International Coaching Federation (ICF), the leading global organization for coaches and coaching.

Life Coaching is a powerful leadership development tool. Its underlying philosophy is that each person is an expert in their own life and work and possesses great resourcefulness and creativity. A strong partnership with a coach can sparks a thought-provoking and creative process, which can inspire the person to maximise their personal and professional potential.

Most people do not listen with the intent to understand; they listen with the intent to reply.

– Stephen Covey

Through active and empathetic listening and powerful questioning, our experienced coaches create an environment in which the Coaches can:

1. Clearly perceive their current situation
2. Identify the goals they want to achieve
3. Creatively brainstorm strategies for achieving these goal
4. Be encouraged to overcome barriers preventing them achieving their goals or the desired change in behaviour.
5. The coaching will either be an Individual 1:1 Coaching or a group coaching 5-6 each by our certified Coaches.

why should leaders learn to listen?

Most people think that to become a good communicator they have to focus on becoming great speakers, but listening is just as important as speaking in the communication process. We encourage our leadership team to learn and develop the skill of listening , and listen with “active and compassion” rather than “listening with the intend to reply”, and one will even hear what isn’t said.
